Overview
Unlike wind-rich Midwestern states, South Carolina has essentially no commercial onshore wind farms due to limited wind resources, but the state has studied offshore wind potential off its Atlantic coast. Clemson University's wind turbine test facility in North Charleston supports research for the broader offshore wind industry.
